And according to him, there have been a lot of changes in this year’s edition of the competition.
In recent years, a first finalist has been presented initially, which has been the contribution that received the most votes in the first round of voting. Since then, points have been distributed, based on the age categories in the app, and the one with the highest score then went on as a second finalist in the competition. The two contributions with the second highest and third highest score in this round went to the final qualification.
But now this points distribution is completely scrapped.

How many move on from the final qualification 2025?
In the final qualification, a total of five contributions compete. Of these, one goes to the final already in the start of the qualification, in what is called “round one”. There, each contribution receives an initial score, which is based on the number of votes it received in its competition in relation to how many voted for it. The one with the highest score at this initial stage goes to the final.
This is how exemplifies SVT The procedure:
“For example, a contribution that has received 1,000,000 votes in a competition where 500,000 has voted will receive a value of 2. If another contribution has also received 1,000,000 votes but only 400,000 voted in that competition, that contribution receives a contribution one value of 2.5 and thus receives a higher introductory score in the final qualification compared to the first contribution. This initial score is reported first and the contribution that has received the highest score goes directly to the final. “
After that, the second round begins and viewers can now vote for the four remaining contributions.
“Once the voting has been completed, another 1,000 points will be distributed based on the number of votes per grant. The score is awarded exactly in the same way as in the final. The grant with the least number of points before the voting gets its new points reported first. When all points have been reported comes The contribution that received the highest number of final points goes on to the final. Contributions that have been more involved in relation to the number of voters will receive more points, ”writes SVT.
If two or more contributions receive the same final score at this stage, it is the contribution that received the most votes during the final qualification that wins and squeezes the last final place.
How does the voting work in the Mello final 2025?
In the final, 12 contributions compete and in the usual order there are eight international jury groups that award points. In total, this is 464 points.
The same number of points should be distributed, then distributed on the seven age categories in the app and the viewer group, which consists of those who voted by phone.
“The viewers’ points determine the competition and are reported in a total total at the end of the program. This to create the greatest possible excitement for the viewers and artists,” writes SVT.
