The Nedereindse Berg is part of the De Nedereindse Plas recreation area. That lake originated after sand extraction, including for highway A2. Later, part of the lake was filled in with waste and it became a landfill. The cycling track is actually on a mountain of waste, just like the Kunstskibaan. Cycling associations have been asking for maintenance on the course for some time, because the asphalt is getting worse.
