The preliminary investigation against a single woman who was shot by the police in Växjö in August last year has been closed down, writes Smålandsposten (SMP).
Last week, prosecutors charged the police for misconduct because he “manifestly unjustly” shot the woman in her remaining leg.
At the incident, the woman was outgoing and waved an ax as well as a weapon -like object. She was therefore suspected of gross threat to an official and grossly illegal threats.
But prosecutor Marcus Sjöstrand – who has seen a video film of the event – points out, among other things, that he must be able to demonstrate intent.
The woman was, according to her own statement, completely engulfed by listening to Gangsterrap, and therefore should not have been aware of what she was doing.
– Therefore, I cannot prove the crime, says the prosecutor.
