House of David traces the story of the character David (Michael Iskander) known from Tanach and old will, who swings up from the simple shepherd boy to King Israel about 1000 years before Christ and a certain on his hero’s journey Giant Goliath defeated with a stone sling. He was sent to a battle against the Philistines by King Saul (Ali Suliman), from which he returns enemies killed with 200 flows. Unfortunately, it is not yet known whether this part also occurs in the series.
With the first trailer, House of David awakens memories of Amazon’s huge Lord of the Rings series. Even if we are not dealing with wizards and hobbits here, there is no such thing as a certain similarity between Prophet Samuel (Stephen Lang) and Gandalf. Don’t you think?
The epic Bible film was created by Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn, who had previously moved in the genre of Christian-religious film fabrics. The idea for the series comes from Erwin and Dallas Jenkins, the creator of the popular Jesus series The Chosen.
