In GTA V and GTA Online we have met a wide variety of characters in recent years. Some of them are parodies of real personalities, others are fictitious. In 2017, however, Rockstar Games brought a very … special … character into play.
In December 2017, GTA Online introduced the Doomsday, that is a robbery in which we players have to prevent the end of the world. Our good well-known Lester Crest introduced us to Avon Hertz, whom we first meet in a former underground government base.
Avon is introduced to us as a tech billionaire who founded his first company at almost 22 years. He is also the developer of the Clifford supercomputer. From now on we should work with both.
In a video sequence, Avon explains to us that the United States threatens. In the course of the story, we meet a former Russian agent named Bogdan who tells us: he does not try to destroy American democracy, but to stop Avon and Clifford. The aim is to provoke a nuclear war.

A self -centered billionaire with evil plans
Avon turns out to be the antagonist of the story and pursues a malignant goal: he wants to create a society that corresponds to its ideas. The simple, working citizen must be kept away from the rich and successful. The perfect world is managed by private companies. And to create this world, the current society must be erased by an atomic catastrophe.
Avon presents itself as an empathy and very self -centered. He sees himself at the center of world events and is offended because the American government did not want to work with him. In addition, he is very convinced of himself and is not tired of speaking of his high intellect.
However, he is also very insecure, stuttering when he reaches his argumentative boundaries and uses his success and intellect as an excuse when someone meets him with logical counter -arguments.
The uncertainty of the tech billionaire is also evident in other areas. So it seemed important to him to tell us that his hair was actually real while he was all about the alleged threat.
On top of that, Avon has a questionable relationship with the artificial intelligence Clifford, which is supposed to call him “Daddy”. He sees himself as the father of the supercomputer, again never speaks of a human family or loved one.
In the finale of the Doomsday, Clifford is against all people and wants to destroy the entire world with nuclear missiles – Avon should also die. We ultimately stop Clifford, but in a last attempt Avon risks his life to escape with the original code of Clifford and save the AI - even though it turned against him and all of humanity.
Let’s summarize again:
Maybe Rockstar Games was inspired by a famous person again in 2017 when they created Avon Hertz. It seems to me that the story and personality of the unsettled tech billionaire are reminiscent of someone. If I only knew who …
