Last week, Samsung showed off the new Galaxy S25 series.
The Galaxy S25 has higher performance than previous models, but the biggest focus is on the software, and more specifically Galaxy AI.
Samsung wants to create a mobile phone that is more voice controlled than touch -controlled. One of the new AI features is, for example, that you can ask Google’s AI model Gemini to control multiple apps at the same time and thus do things for you.

Samsung boss: Galaxy AI is popular with users
Galaxy AI came in Swedish in October and you can use it now unless you have a Galaxy device supported.
According to Anders ElmbyNordic CEO of Samsung’s Mobild Division, customers use the new AI features more than expected.
– We see how much customers use AI in our products and it has been received very hot. Customers use these features more than expected. Of all the customers we have in the Nordic countries, which have access to Galaxy AI in either the Galaxy S22, S23, S24 or in our new foldable mobile, about 76 percent of our customer base’s features use in one way or another, he says in an interview with News24.

Samsung may start paying in the future
So far, Galaxy AI has been completely free. And it will continue to be – at least until the end of 2025.
In one Press release Regarding Galaxy AI from last fall, Samsung wrote the following:
“Galaxy AI functions will be provided at no extra cost until the end of 2025 on Samsung Galaxy devices supported. Other conditions may apply to AI functions provided by third parties.”
It is thus possible that Samsung will start paying for Galaxy AI from 2026. But according to Anders Elmby, the mobile giant has no plans for it at present.
– We currently have no plans to introduce any payment or subscription models for Galaxy AI. Then it depends on what the market trends look, to use the feedback and see what kind of experience can be delivered within the framework of AI. But today we have no plans for it, he tells News24.
