The man was taken by ambulance to hospital and at 20 o’clock the police announced that he had died. Relatives are informed.
The police have blocked off a larger area in central Lund after the shooting. It is outside the railway station, at Västra Stationstorget near the police house, but also inside the track areas.
According to the police, there were a lot of people nearby when the shooting took place and a large number of witnesses will be interrogated. Technicians have also been called to the site. The police also investigate surveillance cameras in the immediate area.
“One person was arrested near the scene shortly after the incident,” says Fredrik Bratt, spokesperson for the police.
The arrested is a 17-year-old boy and he is now suspected of murder.
Train traffic through Lund was stopped
According to the police, there are information about another or more persons who may be involved in the incident.
– We are actively working on this tasks. No one is further detained, says Fredrik Bratt.
After the shooting, which occurred at 18 o’clock, train traffic was stopped through Lund C. At 21.30, train traffic began to roll again and according to Skånetrafiken, travelers can count on delays and also canceled trains.
