Therese Johaug and Petter Northug’s honest words about Stina Nilsson

For several years was Stina Nilsson One of the world’s best cross -country skiers, especially in sprint. But since 2020 she has been both biathlon and now she is a long -run.

Stina has made great success during her new venture and has already taken two pallet seats on the long -run ski Classics. Now the Swedish 31-year-old has raised speculation in Norway after his comeback to the ski sport again.

Some Norwegians believe that Stina Nilsson can make a comeback already for this year’s Ski World Cup in Trondheim. Therese Johaug Have returned to cross -country skiing again after several years of absence and now give his opinion on the old rival.
– You should never say never, but there are many other Swedish ladies that she struggles to get the chance to even compete, says Johaug to the Norwegian newspaper Nettavisen.

Petter Northug Is also skeptical that we get to see Nilsson on the starting line in the World Cup.
– It’s probably a little exaggerated. I think she mainly trains for long races. It is good because she delivers there, but in terms of capacity she is not at the top level yet, Northug tells the Norwegian newspaper.
– But she has to decide now – biathlon, long race and then back to FIS, it sounds like a tough tour.

Another scenario that is painted is that Stina Nilsson, after the whole season with long-distance races, may be relevant for the five-mile at the Winter Olympics 2026 which runs in Val Di Fiemme.
– You have to start early in any case. I tried those paths during the Tour de Ski and they are brutal. There are so many slopes, says a questionable Petter Northug.

The Swedish Ski National Team has previously opened to include Stina Nilsson in a World Cup squad, with the requirement that she must carry out a qualifying race. And so far she has not traveled such a race, so the chance is very small that she shows up in Trondheim.
