Kevin Lindskoug’s hockey career ended a year ago when he got stuck in a doping check and tested positive for cocaine. Lindskoug, which represented many clubs, played in Björklöven seasons 2014/15 and 2015/16.
In September he came out as a trans, which attracted a lot of attention. After that he has been nominated for the QX Gala’s main award, this year’s LGBTQ, on the grounds that he wants to “change the macho culture in rink and changing rooms”.
Backs after the verdict
During this year’s Pride week in Skellefteå on February 9-15, Kevin Lindskoug would have lectured at Sara Kulturhus to talk about her journey, what reactions he has received, as well as mental illness.
But since Skellefteå Municipality was told that he was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment for serious drunk driving and drug offenses in October, they have changed. Now the municipality announces that there will be no lecture.
– With the role that the assignment as a lecturer entailed, we felt that we needed to cancel the lecture with Kevin. It feels important because there are many young people planned to participate. We regret the situation when we have been looking forward to the lecture, but all parties agree that this is the right way to go, says Karl-Henrik Dagman.
SVT has sought Kevin Lindskoug for a comment.
