In Madagascar, the authorities announced that they have arrested nineteen people, including three foreigners – two Comorians and a Tanzanian – across the island, in the past three weeks. In parallel, two Chinese nationals were also arrested in Tanzania. All would be involved in the same and vast network of resale of Radiata turtles, an endemic species protected in critical extinction. 2,700 animals were seized, ready to be exported to Southeast Asia, mainly to be used as a pet.
