A middle-aged woman has been found dead on Tjärnö on the west coast.
The police have opened a preliminary investigation into murder.
– We do this because we cannot rule out that the woman was the victim of a crime, says police spokesperson Thomas Fuxborg.
It was around 11 o’clock on Sunday that the police and ambulance were alerted to a cardiac arrest at Tjärnö in Strömstad municipality.
– When we arrive at the scene, a woman is deceased and the circumstances surrounding the death are somewhat unclear, says Thomas Fuxborg.
A middle-aged man was also at the crime scene, who was arrested by the police. Both the man and the woman are Norwegian citizens.
– The technicians were on site yesterday to do a crime scene investigation, says Fuxborg.
