This Sunday, January 26, is the last day of a presidential election in Belarus, the outcome of which is in no doubt. At 70, iron-fisted leader Alexander Lukashenko will run for a seventh term. This election in a country allied to Russia is taking place while Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin have still not officially spoken by telephone. The population, for its part, doubts the rapid end of a conflict into which it often fears falling permanently.
