Alvar Myhlback has been petitioned from the Swedish JVM squad.
Now the former star Per Elofsson gives his view of the union’s startling decision.

“You have to have a result from our national junior cup and JVM test and the competitions in Bergeforsen are important. We set our selection criteria for all selections before season to provide fair conditions to all active in order to know what it takes to get to championships, “writes Linda Danvind Malmleader of the Swedish junior national team, in a text message to the news agency TT.

The national team manager Anders Byström Have talked to Myhlback and explain what it is that applies. They have also talked after the decision was made.
– We wrote this already last fall and have made it clear to all riders. And it will be difficult to change something in the middle of the season, then it will be wrong. Then it can be seen as square, but if we do not have those premises it will be difficult to handle. Then I definitely think this will be reviewed, after the season. This is always the case when there are such special cases, Byström tells TT.
Per Elofsson saw the ski association
One who is really critical of the skiing association’s decision is the former world champion and the Olympic bronze medalist Per Elofsson47. He also has two golds, one silver and a bronze from JVM on his track record.
– It feels very square if you just … It is clear that if there is any individual who is on the limit then it is great that you have selection so you can more easily distinguish one from the other. But Alvar is so good, so it’s like no talk. He is definitely one of the best juniors in Sweden. There is nothing to think about even, says Elofsson to the Sports Bible.

He is convinced that Alvar Myhlback had performed in a JVM and that the Swedish Ski Association should overlook its principles and take out one of the most talented riders in the country in recent years.
– I don’t really know how the tours have been there, what was said and done. In terms of performance, it is strange that not that kind of talent, that you do not take it out … it is like … I do not know what. But what does it give for signals? It is not good anyway on the part of the union. You have to take him out, that’s just it. He is definitely one of the best herds in Sweden, no doubt, says Per Elofsson.
