SEAQUARIUM. Nearly 200 species of Mediterranean and tropical fish, 25 species of sharks, seals and sea lions await you at the Grau-du-Roi Seaquarium.

Like many towns located by the sea, Le Grau-du-Roi has its own aquarium. Founded in 1989, the Seaquarium is an ideal place for young and old where you can easily spend a good part of the day. Covering an area of 2,500 m², located in the tourist complex called “le Palais de la Mer”, the Seaquarium allows you to explore the seabed through an edutainment course. Its Sharkarium of 900 m² on two levels where you can observe 25 species of sharks, has made it famous.

Visit to the Seaquarium

You will discover the marine world through seven main themes: First of all, the Mediterranean basins and the tropical basins with their multicolored fish, without forgetting the jellyfish basin. On a black background and blue light, they seem to float in the water like parachutes. The turtle museum shows the different mysteries around sea turtles. Children will appreciate the turtle hospital.

But you will not be at the end of your surprises, because you will then enter the shark tunnel. Completely transparent, it allows you to see the sharks evolve and gives the impression of really being with them. After the sharks, it is the sea lions and the seals that you will be able to observe. You will probably even be able to attend their meal.

Finally, after passing through the play area, you can visit the small sea museum. It presents the history of the port of Le Grau du Roi in a very educational way. With a visit duration of around 2 hours, the Seaquarium is not to be missed, especially if the weather is rainy, you will no longer have any excuse to miss this magical place! After that, you can go rest and sunbathe on the large Espiguette beach.

Despite its somewhat high price, the Grau-du-Roi Seaquarium is definitely worth a visit. The boxes close 1 hour before the aquarium.
