Initially, the general secretary of the CAF assured X that the bank transfers targeted by the investigation are “legitimate and traceable”, that they “were carried out in complete transparency” and that they correspond to “ salaries and bonuses” that he has received from the African Confederation since he held the position of secretary general. With the end of the investigation, the “CAF welcomes the decision taken by the Swiss Prosecutor’s Office” while highlighting “the culture of ethics, transparency and governance, established under the presidency by Dr Patrice Motsepe”.
