Golf: Åberg in lead after wind failure: “Hard winds made it difficult”

– The hard winds made it quite difficult. But it felt like we were hanging out pretty well and gave ourselves a good chance for the weekend, says Åberg according to Reuters.

Åberg, who stood for a magnificent first -time, had it more difficult during the second day of the competition because of the weather conditions. But he is still in the lead – together with American Lanto Griffin – after walking around 75 strokes, three over par.

About 30 players could not go clear

The Swede had to knock out the 13th hole before the competition was broken for almost an hour and a half before he could play the round.

The signal then sounded for the game to be stopped for darkness but Åberg chose to play on and made couples on his 18th and last holes.

About 30 players could not play their round.

Åberg and Griffin have gone the first two rounds of a total of 138 strokes. Hack in the heel is American Danny Walker with 139 strokes.

To the leaderboard.
