These 2 characters from the Netflix series come into question

Two seasons of Squid Game have already been wrapped up, and the South Korean survival drama with children’s games will conclude season 3 this year. But will Netflix just let its most successful series of all time stream via Jordan?

Showrunner Hwang Dong-hyuk is already toying with the idea to set up a spin-off. He mentioned several ideas for spin-offs based on already well-known characters.

Squid Game spin-offs about frontman and recruiter: This is how the Netflix hit could continue

At the beginning of the year we already reported how the Squid Game showrunner could imagine his own series about the lives of the masked guards. In another interview at the beginning of the year he had two other ideas. Here’s what Hwang told The Hollywood Reporter:

One of the ideas I’m throwing around is what happened between seasons 1 and 2. There is a three year gap. So what does he have, for example? Frontman done in these three years? What does he have? Recruiter made? When I have some down time, I play around with ideas and let my imagination run wild. So I think we can be open to anything.

Spoilers for Squid Game Season 2: The frontman aka Hwang In-ho (Lee Byeong-heon) is the brother of the cop Jun-ho (Wi Ha-joon) and infiltrated the games last season as player 001. The well-dressed recruiter (Gong Yoo) died at the beginning of Season 2 playing Russian Roulette with Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae). Spoiler end.

Netflix has not yet officially commissioned a Squid Game spin-off. Season 3, which was filmed together with Season 2, is expected to go online this year – perhaps even in the summer, as a recent leak suggests.
