Evaluating Trump’s statement that “the Biden administration made mistakes regarding Ukraine”, Zaharova pointed out that Biden made these mistakes on behalf of the USA.
Emphasizing that the mistakes made on behalf of the country should be corrected, Zakharova said, “If the Trump administration admits that mistakes were made and its arguments argue that the situation in Ukraine was the result of the mistakes of the former administration, these mistakes need to be corrected.” he said.
Spokesperson Zakharova noted that there was no contact regarding the possibility of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov meeting with the new US Foreign Minister Marco Rubio.
Referring to NATO’s activities in the Baltic Sea, Zaharova said, “We will carefully monitor the situation in the Baltic Sea and respond appropriately if ships belonging to NATO countries abuse the situation.” he said.
Regarding the possibility of sending NATO military units to Ukraine, Mariya Zaharova said, “The intervention of NATO forces in Ukraine could lead to an uncontrollable increase in tension. This is absolutely unacceptable for Russia.” made his assessment.
