Finland received two medals from the traditional joint start of the 20 km of the Winter Universiade.
Markus Kasanen skied gold in the men’s 20 km traditional joint start on the closing day of the Winter Universiade. A great Finnish contribution was completed Nico Bennert with his bronze. Eelis Valikainen was fourth in the competition.
– Yes, this fucking 20 kilometers was one of the main trips for me. Going into the day, I felt insecure. I’ve skied all the competitions here and I was a bit tired, but it started off well and it was really great skiing today, Kansanen said in the press release.
The women also started the 20 km traditional race. The Finns were left without a medal this time in the competition, but finished fourth Hannah Ray and finished fifth Elsa Torvinen were involved in the medal battle for a long time. Iida Vuollet was tenth in the competition.
