Half-Life 2 RTX came to the fore with new screenshots and gameplay video. Developed in collaboration with NVIDIA and Orbifold Studios, this free remaster aims to revive the classic FPS game with modern graphics. While it was stated that the leaked 6-minute gameplay video belonged to an old structure, it was also confirmed that the video belonged to 2023. Developers stated that the quality of the final version will be better than these images.
Half-Life 2 RTX: Advanced Graphics and Technologies
Half-Life 2 RTX brings the original game to modern standards using NVIDIA’s latest technologies. The game, which stands out with its Full Ray Tracing and Path Tracing support, will also support DLSS 3 and DLSS 3.5 technologies. These features aim to offer higher performance especially to RTX 40 series graphics card owners. Users with old RTX graphics cards will be able to use modes that convert between DLSS 3 and FSR 3.
Offering a major innovation in terms of graphics, the remaster includes completely restructured materials and 8 times higher resolution textures. The geometric details in the game have been increased 20 times compared to the original. Especially elements such as Gordon Freeman’s iconic armor are detailed to a level that rivals modern AAA games.
A release date for Half-Life 2 RTX has not been announced yet. However, the leaked images and gameplay video show that the development process of the game is quite advanced. This NVIDIA-supported remaster aims to impress players not only graphically but also atmospherically.
