The new president of the United States Donald Trump has ordered more troops to the Mexican border.
According to Trump’s spokesman, sending 1,500 troops to the southern border is part of measures to combat immigration. With the additional troops, there will be a total of 4,000 US troops on the border.
Border security and immigration are Trump’s central themes in his new term. Right after taking office, Trump, for example, declared a state of emergency on the country’s southern border.
Trump has also suspended the entry of refugees who have already received permission to enter the United States. The matter was outlined in the decision he signed on Monday.
