Code Violet will be released only for PS5, by the decision of developer TeamKill Media. The reason why the game is not coming to PC is because of the mods.
Developed by TeamKill Media and promoted as a “spiritual sequel to Dino Crisis” Code Violetwill be released only on the PS5 platform. Set in the 25th century, this dinosaur horror game invites players to the challenging story of a character named Violet Sinclair, set in the Aion Bioengineering Complex. However, the developer team announced that the game will not be published on the PC platform due to “sexual content mods” that PC users may create.
Why Isn’t Code Violet Coming to PC?
In a statement on social media platform X, TeamKill Media detailed the reason behind Code Violet’s decision not to come to PC. Stating that they want to preserve the artistic integrity of the game’s characters and story, the studio said, “Mods with sexual content simplify our art and damage the reputation of our voice actors.” Thinking that this situation could harm the creative vision of the game, the team did not hesitate to make this decision despite the modding culture of the PC platform.
Additionally, the studio emphasized that they are not against the PC platform, but are absolutely against such mods. “We are not against the modding community, we are aware of fun mods. But we are 100% against pornographic mods,” TeamKill Media said.
TeamKill Media stated that they also considered the possibility of publishing the game for Xbox, but they did not have enough resources and time for this. The game will be released for PS5 in July 2025 and aims to offer players an experience full of both horror and action.
Code Violet is attracting attention by focusing solely on the PS5 platform, following a controversial decision regarding modding culture. The developers state that they chose this path to both preserve the integrity of the story and offer players an original experience. It is eagerly awaited to see what impact the game will have among PS5 users.
