The southern United States has been hit by a rarely seen snowfall. A storm stretching from Texas in the west to Florida in the east has caused countless traffic accidents and canceled thousands of flights.
Just around Atlanta, in Georgia, over 100 cars have driven off the roads, reports ABC News, which states that “several deaths” have occurred as a result of the snow storm in the southeastern United States.
In New Orleans, Louisiana, more than 20 centimeters of snow have fallen during Tuesday and Wednesday, which easily beats the previous snow record in the city, just under 7 centimeters in 1963.
A record amount of snow has also fallen in Florida. In Milton in the northwest part of the state, 22 centimeters of snow fell, more than has ever been measured before.
