To recover your stolen item, the process is simple and free. If you recognize, at random, your pair of sunglasses among the ten present on the site, simply send an email to the address specified in the photo and attach proof that the object belongs to you . Copies of personal photos, invoices, a complaint or even a serial number are all elements accepted to authenticate the object.
Once the shipment is received, the gendarmerie takes the time to check the documents and if everything matches, the objects are returned to their owner free of charge. Behind this great initiative, the idea is “return everything to the victims, who often have the feeling of having had their privacy violated, […] and make them smile a little with objects of great sentimental value”entrusts the gendarme of Nouvelle-Aquitaine to The Popular Center.
For the moment, the site mesobjetsvoles.fr is enjoying great success at the local level since nearly 1.5 million visits were recorded in 2024. A craze which should continue in 2025 and which, we hope, will encourage more others from other gendarmes and other regions to roll out the concept on a national scale.
