Anders Jonsson runs a restaurant and an experience center at Tåsjön north of Östersund. This weekend the place was hit by a real storm which blew away an entire garage for him.
– It happened because I didn’t have snow on the roof, says Anders Jonsson in Efter fem.
The storm warnings in Västernorrland had reached Anders Jonsson, but there was nothing he noticed when he went to bed on Friday night. For some time now, he has been running a facility at Tåsjö in Västernorrland, a place that offers both skiing, hiking and scooter tours. Anders had a garage for equipment and various vehicles.
When he woke up the next day, the garage had blown away and the kayaks and other things were plastered away.
It was just a matter of jumping out of the pajamas and into the pants on Saturday morning. The gable was under the ski lift but the rest is somewhere far away. I haven’t found it yet, says Anders Jonsson.
There was too little snow on the roof
The facility is located high up on the mountain next to Tåsjö at an altitude of 635 meters. There, storms of this kind are not unusual, they happen about once a winter. But the reason why Anders’ garage was blown away was that there was no snow on the roof.
It happened because I didn’t have snow on the roof. We had no pressure, so there was nothing holding the stuff in place, says Anders.
Looking for the garage later this spring
Somewhere in the woods around Tåsjöberget lies Anders’ garage, without snow on the roof. But it’s not something he has time to find out now because the storm uprooted trees and blew around the rubble which is more urgent.
We will have to wait until spring, there is snowfall and draft dog events now and quite a lot to clear up on the trails if we say so, says Anders Jonsson in Efter fem.
