(Finance) – Sparklethe first international services operator in Italy and among the first in the world, opens a new Point of Presence (PoP) in Brasilia to support the growing demand for international connectivity in Brazil. First in Brasilia and fifteenth in the countrythe new PoP expands the capillarity of Sparkle’s network in Brazil – with points of presence also in Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Rio De Janeiro, Salvador and Sao Paulo – consolidating its positioning as one of the main Tier-1 backbones in South America and among the main international operators throughout the American continent.
Located at the ELEA BSB2 data centerthe PoP is fully integrated with Sparkle Seabone’s global Tier-1 IP backbone that boasts extensive coverage in Central and South America with 18 points of presence in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Panama, Peru and Puerto Rico. Furthermore, thanks to its terrestrial and underwater network which includes four “digital highways” – Curie in the Pacific and Monet, Seabras-1 and soon Manta in the Atlantic -, Sparkle offers five diversified routes for connectivity from South to North America, guaranteeing a complete redundancy and high navigation quality.
The new node will allow operators, ISPs, OTTs, content delivery networks, content and application providers to enjoy reliable, low-latency IP transit services in scalable multiples of 10GB, 100GB, and 400GB. Furthermore, customers have a full range of IP solutions available including DDoS Protection services, which offers the ability to protect their network from attacks, and Virtual NAP which provides virtual access to the main Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) without the need for build proprietary infrastructure.
