3.50 pm: Accident at the Oudenrijn junction on the A12

An accident has occurred on the A12 at the Oudenrijn junction in Utrecht. As a result, four of the six lanes are closed. Traffic from The Hague is delayed by an hour.

Rijkswaterstaat also announces that it is almost finished with the work on the A27. The road will be free again soon.

3.40 pm: 30 minutes delay in Utrecht after accident on A27

After an accident on the A27, there is a traffic jam on the road. Only one lane is available at the Lunetten junction. And there is also a delay of about half an hour on the A28 from Amersfoort.

Rijkswaterstaat recommends looking at the traffic information before departure.

2.35 pm: Men arrested after discovery of drug lab and cannabis farm

Two men from Veenendaal have been arrested for involvement in drug trafficking. When searching four homes in the same city and a garage in Amerongen, the police found a drug lab, cannabis farm and more than 40 kilos of narcotics.

11.41 am: Chickens in too small coop

Twenty chickens were seized in Soest. They stayed in a closed cage about 60 centimeters wide and 1.50 meters long.

“That is really far too small for twenty chickens,” said the Central Netherlands Animal Police, which points out that owners are responsible for, among other things, hygiene and sufficient clean water and feed. “It is clear that the chickens in this case did not receive the care they deserved.”

The chickens have been seized and a report is being drawn up. “If you want to purchase chickens, do so consciously and read carefully,” the Central Netherlands Animal Police advises.

9 a.m.: Traffic jam A2 after accident

A motorcyclist collided with a car on the A2 near Nieuwer Ter Aa. The reason is not yet clear, but there is a large traffic jam towards Amsterdam.

6.25 am: Chance of slippery conditions

This morning there will be some drizzle here and there and that may cause localized sleet, reports Weeronline. “During the morning, the road surface temperatures will slowly rise and the chance of slippery conditions from the west will decrease.” The KNMI has issued code yellow.

This evening and tonight there will be light frost again on a large scale and in combination with a persistent risk of local drizzle or drizzle, it may also become slippery again in places.

6.21am: Sheepdog dumped

A dog is tied to a post in Zeist. It is probably a crossbreed Malinois, a neutered male. The dog now has a warm home, the police report. The owner is being sought.

5:30 am: Car overturned

Last night, passers-by pushed an overturned car with victims still inside back onto its wheels. That happened at the A1 exit near Baarn. The driver lost control of the car in the bend. She hit several posts there and the car ended up on its side. Passers-by stopped at the accident, pushed on its wheels and then helped the two occupants and the dog out of the car.

After a check in the ambulance, the woman, man and dog appeared to have escaped unscathed. The car could not go any further. It was picked up by a salvage company.
