Which food giant has the best bonus system Here is

Do you feel that it is becoming increasingly difficult to shop for food at reasonable prices? You are probably not alone as food prices go up and down too often.

It probably won’t get any easier either with the advanced bonus programs the food giants have to attract consumers with reduced prices, which makes things easier for many.

The food giants’ bonus systems are complicated

The Privata Affärer site explains what the food chains’ bonus programs look like, when you get benefits and what counterclaims exist.

– It is quite difficult to get a good overview as a consumer. It is difficult to understand how to advance in them and how to act so that it pays off over time, says Alfred Johanssonbusiness manager at Matpriskollen, to Private Affairs.

He believes that the bonus programs often require you to spend money yourself, sometimes a lot, in order to then gain access to bonus points and benefits.

– If you spend the majority of your monthly budget for shopping at a chain, then you advance in their bonus system.

Ica, Coop or Hemköp? They give customers the highest bonus

Recently, however, more and more people have urged the public not to be so faithful, but instead to become a member of all the bonus and loyalty programs that the retail giants use.

In Matpriskollen’s review of the bonus programs, they assume that you spend SEK 8,000 per month within the same food chain. The result then shows that Coop is the chain with the highest bonus – around five percent.

Once you reach SEK 8,000 over the months, you earn a lot of points in the system. Those points can then be used for, for example, bonus checks, which can be beneficial for many, Johansson explains Private Affairs.

This is what the grocery stores’ bonus program looks like:

Willys Plus

The chain does not have a refund system where price reductions occur after spending x kroner. Instead, as a member you get offers.

Lidl Plus

Their bonus gives coupons when you reach certain amounts each month. Should you shop for more than SEK 3,000, you will receive a bonus check of SEK 40.

Home purchase

In their “club”, you as a customer collect points during four-month periods. One krone is equal to one point. And a bonus check is received when you have accumulated 2,500 points. If you buy organic products, you get double points.

City Gross

They offer a discount coupon of either five or ten percent if you reach a certain number of purchases and amounts.

Ica regulars

At Ica, you collect points every month. One krone is equal to one point and the bonus system is based on different levels where the highest bonus check given is 150 kroner. Then you must have spent SEK 8,000 or more in one month.
