The mount that Blizzard wanted 78 euros for is apparently just a yak in a dinosaur costume

As part of the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft, fans of the MMORPG were able to treat themselves to the 78 euro, gold-decorated merchant Brutosaurus for a while. Now players have discovered that Blizzard recycled some of the other mounts to design the exclusive mount.

The player BrylicET noticed something exactly. On Reddit he reports that the seat of the Great Expedition Syak from Mists of Pandaria can be seen in the special animations of the exclusive anniversary mount.

But that’s not all! Under the post, PSBJ adds on Reddit that he was also able to recreate this observation with the original Brutosaurus mount from WoW, which was introduced in Battle for Azeroth.

The player speculates that this could be a bug that came into play seven or eight years ago in the design of the first Brutosaurus mount, and which has now, thanks to copy/paste, also made it into the code of the exclusive mount has managed.

In other words: The gold-decorated dealer Brutosaurus is a reskin of existing mount models in several ways, with the base appearing to come from a yak.

When the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft started in October 2024, the developers gave themselves a gift: a mount that cost almost 80 euros and would only be sold for a certain period of time. It was already clear on launch day: the luxury mount was a mega success for Blizzard.

    The special features of the gold-decorated merchant Brutosaurus include two NPCs who offer unique services.
