Assassin’s Creed Shadows Will Be Freer

With Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft aims to offer players a freer exploration experience with less guidance.

Ubisoft’s highly anticipated new game Assassin’s Creed ShadowsIt will offer players a freer exploration experience by bringing innovations to the classic game mechanics of the series. The game, which is planned to be released on March 20, 2025, will encourage players to explore the world in their own way by reducing overly guiding icons and signs on the map. With this new approach, Ubisoft aims to make exploration in the open world a reward.

Fewer Map Icons, More Freedom in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Ubisoft announced that it has made significant changes to the exploration system of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Players will now only be able to see area names and some vague clues on the map initially. They will need to explore regions and local areas to learn more. Players will be able to learn about quest locations and landmarks by using their spies or interacting with NPCs.

The synchronization points, which have become the symbols of the game, are also renewed with this new system. Sync points will now only show important points, instead of filling a large area with icons, and players can manually mark these points. Also, instead of the classic eagle sidekick, players will have to manually mark enemies and valuables by observing the environment.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows also offers players new tools to make the exploration experience easier. Safe houses called “Kakurega” provide players with fast travel points while also allowing them to manage their inventory, replenish supplies and organize their allies. A new tool called Pathfinder helps players determine the fastest route by planning shortcuts and obstacles in advance.

With these innovations, Ubisoft aims to enable players to participate more actively in the open world. Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which will be released on March 20, will offer players a more personal adventure by taking the familiar mechanics of the series with a fresh approach.
