Inkki Inola already took his second gold medal at the Torino Winter Universiade.
Finnish cross-country skiers had a great time on the Italian Universiade tracks on Friday: Inki Inola ski gold, Valtteri Pennanen silver and Anni Lindroos mixed Markus Kasanen achieved bronze medals.
Paracross-country skier Inola already won her second gold medal in the visually impaired category at the Turin Winter Universiade. This time, the trip was a traditional skiing sprint.
– The race proceeded as planned. I got a good start and nothing but the tap open for the first climb and I was able to settle for a safe-feeling gap to my competitors. At the end, it wasn’t necessary to hit terribly hard, and on the final straight, I was able to break even with the wind, Inola said.
– A very big thank you to the service: the club played excellently. Even though we are in an individual sport, this is teamwork, Inola praised.
The day’s program also included the women’s and men’s traditional cross-country sprints. Lindroos took bronze in the women’s competition.
Two Finnish athletes were seen in the men’s sprint final. Pennanen was stronger than the Finns in the final race and took silver from the competition, Kasanen got bronze.
