Frida Karlsson is finally back on the ski slopes again.
The Swede makes a comeback during the World Cup weekend in Les Rousses.
But now there is worrying news that she may be forced to undergo surgery.
The ski season has so far been painful for Frida Karlsson. She has been plagued with injury problems and was forced to turn down the Tour de Ski but now she is returning to the ski slopes again.
Karlsson back
When the World Cup continues with a competition weekend in French Les Rousses, the Swede makes a comeback again. Both before the competition season and during the winter, the left foot has hindered her from reaching her full potential.

Actually, she has had problems with her foot for several years. Now it feels much better again and it’s time for Karlsson to start gearing up for the skiing WC.
– I mostly practiced raw physics and didn’t really do any speed sessions outside. I think I need these races to start the specific training before the WC. I have been training a lot, above all skiing a lot on conveyor belts. The band is set on a steep hill and I am constantly uphill. We’ll see how it goes now that I’ll try to ride a little fast on the “plate” too, she says in an interview with Dagens Nyheter.
– The foot feels much better, but I have to deal with it, try to keep it in check just this season.
Risk of surgery
On the competition schedule, there is a 10 km free on Friday, a classic sprint on Saturday and finally a mass start over two kilometers on Sunday. It is of course extremely gratifying that Frida Karlsson is back in competitions again, but the foot problems continue to worry.

The Swedish skiing star admits that she may be forced to undergo surgery to overcome the problems.
– It’s possible, but it’s not something I want to think about now, she says in the interview.
If we look ahead to the World Ski Championships, her attitude is to compete in all the races that go on. She cannot imagine standing over races to save her body.
– No, I can’t. And I don’t think anyone else can make me do that either, she admits to the daily newspaper.
– When it’s the WC, I just hope to be able to drive and not think about it.
