Israel’s massacre in Gaza had been going on for months. While meetings were held many times to decide on a ceasefire, no clear result was achieved. Recently, Donald Trump, who will become the US President on January 20, announced on his social media account that a ceasefire had been reached.

The Israeli press reported that all eyes were on the security cabinet that will meet today to approve the ceasefire.

In the statement made by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, it was stated that the agreement was approved by the security cabinet and submitted for the approval of the government after it demonstrated that the agreement supported the objectives of the war when considered in political, security and humanitarian aspects.

The government is also expected to meet today to discuss the ceasefire and mutual ceasefire agreed with Hamas.

Armistice and POWER AGREEMENT

Qatar, one of the mediator countries, announced on January 15 that an agreement was reached between Israel and Hamas on a ceasefire and prisoner exchange in Gaza.

The agreement will enter into force on Sunday, January 19. 33 Israeli prisoners will be released in the first 42 days of the ceasefire agreement, which will consist of 3 stages.

The agreement includes comprehensive delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, as well as the return of displaced Palestinians to their areas.

Details of the second and third phases will be announced upon completion of the first phase.
