Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation upon the complaint of Servet Polat’s family. During the studies carried out within the scope of the investigation, it was determined that other people who ate baked potatoes at the workplace of the business owner N.D. showed symptoms of poisoning and applied to hospitals. It was learned that salmonella virus was found in the samples taken from the materials used in food preparation in the business by the Izmir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and the crime scene investigation teams.

Since foods consumed outdoors generally contain chicken meat, severe conditions may occur when exposed to this bacterium, especially in people with weakened immunity, the elderly, especially babies, cancer patients or pregnant women.
