Blue and yellow started the championship right away and at the most they had four balls down to Japan during the first half. The game looked good at times and Andreas Palicka in the Swedish goal made a couple of nice saves while Sweden had some simple technical mistakes in the offensive game.
First 30 finished 17–13.
In the second half, it was Sweden for the whole penny. Blue and yellow played up really well and then Japan didn’t have much to counter. The match ended with a clear Swedish victory where the final numbers were written at 39–21.
– I’m very happy about our effort, it was great, says confederation captain Michael Apelgren in Viaplay.
– Many players were hot and we were hungry. What I liked most was the intensity of the defense and that we were able to counterattack so well. It was nice that it was a nice trip.
On Saturday, Chile waits before it’s time to face Spain in an early top match on Monday.
