Tom Selleck is known to many for the role of Police Chief Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods – Crime Scene New York. He recently shared his memories of the 14 seasons of the long-term project and named the most touching scene that still moves him to this day.

In December 2024, Blue Bloods star Tom Selleck gave an interview to Parade magazine about his work. When asked if he had a favorite scene or one particularly fond memory of Blue Bloods he referred to a very specific consequence.
It is a matter of Episode 12 of Season 2, Shots in the Nightfrom 2012, in which Blue Bloods executives were allowed to film at the 9/11 Memorial:
“We were the first show allowed to film at the 9/11 Memorial. That was a special privilege and an important thing for our mission.“
At the request of Selleck and Blue Bloods producer Brian Burns, the album was intended to honor the victims of 9/11.

In a 2021 interview with Popculture, Selleck stated:
“What we’re doing tonight in this holy place shoot is a scene in which Frank Regan, the police chief of New York City, visits the site of the attack and Ground Zero.”
Cast and crew were just as moved during filming as the characters in front of the camera, Selleck describes:
“It’s a very emotional moment for him. It’s an emotional moment for us.
It’s kind of a special privilege to be here. We consider it an honor that they gave us permission.”
It was a one for everyone involved
intense moment and a scene that remains unforgotten to this day.
The fact that the Blue Bloods team was the first television production ever to film at the 9/11 Memorial still stands out for Tom Selleck from the series’ 14 long, varied years.
