Now he opens up about his admirable initiative alongside handball.

But besides handball, “Gotte” wants to draw attention to something even more important. In connection with the 2025 Handball World Cup, he is also starting a fundraiser for vulnerable children.
Help vulnerable children
Together with the children’s rights organization Plan International, money is to be collected to “run more safe places for children on the run”. When Jim Gottfridsson became a father, a strong drive to get involved with the world’s children came and he recently became an ambassador for Plan International.
– For me, the best thing in the world is to see a child smile, to see them use their imagination, play together and explore the world. Unfortunately, the world is not always fair. But I believe that if we give children a safe environment where they can dream, they can achieve exactly what they want, says the Swedish handball star in a press release.

Gottfridsson will donate signed handballs and a signed national team shirt to raise money for child-safe places around the world.
– When crises strike, children’s lives are turned upside down. They are forced to leave their homes, may have lost a parent, are afraid and worried. Child-safe places then become a safe oasis that provides protection and support. Thanks to Jim’s commitment and everyone who contributes to his fundraiser, together we can ensure that more children have the opportunity to play and just be children, says Marianne Erikssongeneral secretary at Plan International Sweden.
