She persevered despite the setbacks, but after four years she made the decision to switch to long-distance running instead. During the debut season at Ski Classics, it has gone surprisingly well and already during the premiere weekend, Stina Nilsson took her very first podium.

Emil Nykvist pays tribute

Last weekend in Italy, the 31-year-old delivered both a fourth place and a second place. Now the boyfriend gives Emil Nykvist the most beautiful tribute to his partner.
– I am very proud of what she does. She does superb races and really deserves the results she has achieved now, he tells Aftonbladet and admits how much he is inspired by her.
– A lot, actually. To see what she does on a daily basis and her joy in sports, it is contagious. It’s fucking fun.

Nykvist knows exactly what Stina has had to go through and has been an important pillar of support for her during the tough time. In the same way that she has been a valuable support for him who has been forced to go through a mysterious foot injury for several months.
– She has meant a lot. Nothing else can be said about it. She inspires in many ways, he tells Expressen.
– She rides very well, she shows that it (long-distance running) really suits her. It’s very fun.

Emil Nykvist has fought his way back to the World Cup again and now hopes to take a place in the Swedish squad that will go to the Biathlon World Cup in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
– Nothing is impossible. The others are going well. But there are openings and if I do great, I don’t think the team for the WC is selected and ready. But it all depends on what the future looks like. Partly how the body responds, how well I ride and what everyone else is doing, he tells the evening newspaper.
