Tove Alexandersson’s embarrassing confession about the Jerring prize

Tove Alexandersson is one of eight nominees for the Jerring Prize and can thus win the prize for the second time.
She now shares an embarrassing confession before the Sports Gala.
– I am too poorly informed, she tells Sportbibeln.

She is one of Sweden’s most versatile sports stars who has won WC medals in a total of five (!) different sports. Tove Alexandersson32, is clearly a unique athlete who deserves the respect and love of the entire Swedish people.

Tove Alexandersson about the attention

She herself really feels that she gets a very positive response from all the people she meets and who get in touch with her on social media.
– It’s fantastically cool that I get so much support from so many. I think I always get very kind and positive comments. Everyone is very nice and caring. I think it’s great fun to be able to spread orienteering, because I think it’s an absolutely fantastic sport. I hope that more will take the chance to try, she says in an interview with Sportbibeln.

However, she is basically not a person who wants a lot of attention directed at her. But it is inevitable to end up in such situations when you are a successful elite athlete.
– Personally, I don’t really like attention and being in the center so much. I feel best when I am alone or with close friends in the mountains or in the forest and running. I’m not really a person who thrives in the center. But of course I appreciate the support I get from everyone. Everyone is so very kind and nice, she says.

Tove’s recognition of the Jerring prize

Her fantastic efforts in 2019 – when she won World Cup gold in long distance, middle distance and relay in orienteering, as well as two World Cup gold in ski orienteering – led to her being awarded both the Achievement Gold and the Jerring Prize that year. Five years later, she is nominated again for Radiosport’s Jerring Award. She is one of eight nominated athletes (or teams).

When Sportbibeln asks her who she thinks will win the award, she has to reveal one thing. Although she is an elite athlete herself, she does not have a good grasp of other Swedish athletes who were successful in 2024. Thus, she does not have a good answer to the question.
– I actually have to admit that I… I think it’s a lot of fun to practice sports myself, but I’m not very familiar with sports otherwise. So I dare not give a favorite for the Jerring prize. I am too poorly informed, she answers honestly.
