Assoc. Dr. Ferhat Balgetir said that in patients with headache, warning signs indicating a serious underlying condition that requires urgent medical intervention are expressed as red flags.
Assoc. Dr. Balgetir, if the pain of patients with headache has just appeared, if there is a change in the character of the pain and if it is accompanied by neurological deficit (loss of function in a part of the body) or if there is an accompanying high fever, if the patient is over fifty years of age, if the patient has a history of cancer. He stated that if the headache occurs with trauma or exercise, and if the pain does not respond to treatments, these situations should be interpreted as a red flag.
