Outgoing US President Joe Biden announces that he will lift Washington’s designation of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism.

The White House made the announcement on Tuesday, saying that in return Cuba would release detained regime critics.

“An evaluation has been completed, and we do not have information to indicate that Cuba should be labeled as a country that supports terrorism,” an unnamed government source told the AFP news agency.
