2024 was an extraordinary year for the Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres. He wrote Swedish sports history by completely pouring in goals for Portuguese Sporting Lisbon during the year.

Gyökeres became all of football Europe’s very best goalscorer with his incredible 52 goals in one calendar year. For that, he was also awarded the prestigious Guldbollen as Sweden’s best soccer player in 2024.

The parents in tears
The Portuguese Dany Sobral de Jesus and Andrea Pereira lost her 12-year-old son Kevin to meningitis. The death has involved many people in Portugal and the parents visited Portuguese television to talk about the grief, see the video below.
