Jonna Sundling doesn’t want to talk summer in SR because she’s not ready

Many Swedish athletes have had the chance to record their own summer talk in P1.
Jonna Sundling, on the other hand, has never been asked the question – which pleases her.
– This year I probably wouldn’t have accepted, she says in SVT’s “Kallprat”.

The sprint star Jonna Sundling30, picked up two WC golds in Planica 2023. But in the same championship stood Ebba Andersson27, for a magnificent display as she won two golds and two bronzes. She thus became WC queen and snapped Jonna on the nose.

Jonna Sundling has not talked about summer

Thanks to her fine effort, Ebba Andersson was invited by Bibi Rödöö to speak in “Summer in P1” the same summer. Of course, it was a beloved sports feature and many appreciated her program.

When Jonna is a guest on SVT’s winter sports talk show “Kallprat”, she gets a question from the presenter Johan Kücükaslan regarding summer talk.
– Nothing short of Ebba Anderssonbut it is strange that you were not asked about summer talk?, he says.
– Haha, so this year or earlier?, answers Sundling.

Sundling refuses Sommar in P1

Johan Kücükaslan continues to talk about this. When he asks again if she has been asked by Swedish Radio, she explains that she has not.
– But I feel that it does nothing. So, it’s cool to be asked that question. Then… I can wait, she says.
– Would you say yes?, asks the SVT journalist.

It turns out that the sprint star doesn’t even want to be on the classic radio show. She doesn’t feel any urge to speak in front of the entire Swedish people, much to everyone’s disappointment.
– This year I probably wouldn’t have accepted. I don’t feel ready for it. But maybe in a few years. Then I can say yes, she says.
– When the career begins to suffer towards its end?, asks Kücükaslan.
– Yes, a little like that, she says.

Very sad not to hear Jonna speak in “Summer in P1” in the near future. Hope to do it eventually. She is such a good skier that many Swedes look up to and love to follow.
