CD Projekt Red announced that approximately 100 people from the Witcher 3 team are still with the company while they are working on Witcher 4. The story director has been the same name since the beginning of the series.

In his statement on social media, Nowakowski said that approximately half of the 200-person team working on Witcher 3 is still working within CD Projekt Red. Among these names are experienced developers who have been involved in previous games such as Witcher 1 and 2. Names such as the company’s co-CEO Adam Badowski and Witcher 4’s story director Philipp Weber stand out as people who have preserved the main vision of the series for many years.

While celebrating the second anniversary of one of Witcher 3’s newest quests on social media, Weber confirmed that a significant portion of the old team is still involved in the company’s new projects. CD Projekt Red aims to both stay true to the past and offer an innovative approach by including new talents in the project as well as the experienced team.
Witcher 4 is described as a “new beginning” by CD Projekt Red. It is stated that the game will tell a story about Cirin’s rise as a Witcher and will start a new saga in the series. It is also stated that popular features such as Gwent will return and players will be given the freedom to create their own character structures, similar to Cyberpunk 2077.
