A mother and her two children died in a house fire which broke out in Wingles, in Pas-de-Calais, during the night from Sunday to Monday.

A fire caused at least three victims in Pas-de-Calais, on the night of Sunday January 12 to Monday January 13. The fire broke out in a house located on rue du Pronet in Wingles, near Lens, around 4:30 a.m., reports BFM Grand Lille. A mother and her two children died in the flames according to the same media which cites the town hall of the town.

Two other victims of the fire, young boys aged 11 and 12, were pulled out of the fire by a neighbor. In a state of relative emergency, they were transported to Lens hospital by the firefighters. As a safety measure, electricity was cut off throughout the area. The fire was brought under control and contained around 7 a.m. thanks to the intervention of around thirty firefighters. A municipal room was opened and made available to local residents and specific rescue teams BFMTV.

The two young boys, evacuated from the burning house and transported in emergency to Lens hospital, were taken out of the house thanks to the intervention of a neighbor, reports the mayor of Wingles to various media. “A neighbor told me that he had taken the two boys out. He was alerted by an explosion. He took a ladder to get them out through a window on the 1st floor,” said the councilor to The Voice of the North.
