During the last year, Brazil has been widely affected by the devastation caused by extreme weather events.
Huge floods caused by record rains killed more than 180 people in the southern part of the country in April and May.
Brazil also suffered from a historic drought linked to climate change, which set the stage for the worst wildfires in 17 years. The fires destroyed large parts of the Amazon rainforest.
