Downpours fell on Mayotte on Sunday January 12, causing flooding, due to tropical storm Dikeledi. It is starting to move away from the French archipelago, after causing three deaths in Madagascar, less than a month after the devastation of Cyclone Chido in the Indian Ocean. Mayotte was subject to a red alert during the night. This is maintained until Monday evening by the prefect.
