Municipality pays 90,000 to bullied student
The municipality of Lund pays 90,000 kroner in damages to a student who was bullied throughout his junior year, writes Sydsvenskan.
The payment comes after the Child and Student Ombudsman (Beo) requested that the municipality reimburse the boy.
– It is nice that my son learns that he has been right all along in what he felt, says the boy’s mother to the newspaper.

An accident occurred on road 207 in southern Örebro at around 10.30pm on Saturday.
– There are two passenger cars that have collided head-on. We have loaded three people who have been taken to hospital by ambulance, says Magdalena Andersson, team leader at SOS Alarm who is responsible for the Bergslagen rescue region.
One of the people was trapped and had to be freed by the rescue service. The injury status of all three is unclear.
At 11:30 p.m., the road was still closed, according to the emergency services.

The man who investigated Trump resigns
The special prosecutor Jack Smith, who was behind two criminal investigations against Donald Trump, has left his post at the US Department of Justice.
According to Politico, his resignation was announced as a footnote in a document filed Saturday afternoon.
Jack Smith has previously announced plans to leave his post before the change of power. Donald Trump has on several occasions promised to fire him as soon as he takes office as president.
Smith investigated two federal investigations into Trump, one connected to the storming of the Capitol building and one into Trump’s handling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, after he left the White House.
Both investigations were closed after Trump won the presidential election.

Only one traffic accident was reported to the police in south-eastern Skåne during Saturday, reports say Ystad’s Allehanda.
And it was caused by the police.
– It was a patrol that was out driving in Lunarp and ended up in the ditch. The patrol called in themselves and reported the incident, says police spokesperson Evelina Olsson to the newspaper.
It must have been slippery after a snowfall, and the police car plowed straight into the barrier. Both it and the police car were damaged.

Eight people have been killed in an Israeli attack on a school building in Gaza that served as a shelter, Hamastrogna health authorities said.
The attack took place on Saturday in Jabalia in northern Gaza against the Halwa school. Among the dead are two children and two women. A further 30 people are said to have been injured, including 19 children.
The school building is said to have housed “thousands of displaced people”.
Israel confirms it carried out the attack and says it was aimed at Hamas fighters.
At the same time, Israel announces that four soldiers have been killed in northern Gaza.

Queen Sonja of Norway suffered heart fibrillation today, in connection with a ski trip, and was admitted to hospital.
This is stated by the Norwegian royal house in a press release.
“The situation is not considered serious and the queen is in good shape under the circumstances,” the royal palace writes in the press release.
Queen Sonja, who is in Lillehammer hospital, is 87 years old.

“We should not politicize human tragedies or spread misinformation,” Newsom wrote in an email to Trump.
