Since October, the Israeli military has been concentrating heavy armed force in northern Gaza as it says the extremist group Hamas is trying to regroup in the region. The army said it killed three Hamas militants in a ground attack near Jabalia in northern Gaza on Saturday.
More than 400 Israeli soldiers have been killed since Israel attacked Gaza in October 2023. The attack came after Hamas and other Palestinian extremist organizations had attacked Israel, killing more than 1,200 people and taking largely more than 200 hostages.
