No obvious reason, therefore, to wear these glasses outdoors as well as indoors.
Would the Minister of the Interior then consider himself a movie star? Bruno Retailleau began his speech with an update on this absurd accessory. “Becoming a minister has not made me get a big head,” he begins with humor, “don’t worry, it’s not because I wear sunglasses that I think I’m a Hollywood star !”
A minor operation involved
The reason is much simpler, the minister had had eye surgery the day before his visit: “There is nothing serious, but I have to protect my eyes.” It is true that people who undergo eye surgery, such as those for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism, must protect their eyes. Perhaps we will soon be surprised to see the minister without his glasses, which he wears daily.
